Adeline Alfonse

Adeline (Freitas) Alfonse, age 93, of Dartmouth, MA, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, September 11, 2025. At her side providing comfort and support were Michael and Lauren with Al and Tommy looking on in spirit.

Born on May 12, 1932, in Falmouth, MA, she was the daughter of the late Frank Freitas and Eugenia (Cabral) Freitas. Adeline lived a quiet and peaceful life enriched by family and friends. She was a proud graduate of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel School and of New Bedford High School. Adeline was employed for many years as a stitcher for various local manufacturers and was a lifetime member of the ILGWU.

Adeline is survived by her son, Thomas W. Alfonse, Esq.; her grandson, Michael J. Alfonse; her granddaughter, Lauren E. Alfonse and her partner Jason Hunter; as well as several nieces and nephews. Adeline will be deeply missed and forever lovingly remembered.

Adeline was predeceased by her husband, Alfred; her grandson, Thomas W. Alfonse Jr., and her sisters, Gida Moniz and her husband, Frank, Mary Avellar and her husband Vernon, and Carmen Costa and her husband Leonard.

In honoring Adeline, funeral services will be held privately.
