Ambrosina daSilva Vitorino

New Bedford - It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Ambrosina (daSilva) Vitorino, age 95, of New Bedford, MA, who left this world on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at Hathaway Manor, surrounded by the love of her family. She was the beloved wife of the late Augusto Sousa Vitorino.

Born on April 14, 1930, in Lagoa, Sao Miguel, Acores, Ambrosina was the cherished daughter of the late Antonio Jose daSilva and Sofia de Jesus (Soares) daSilva. Her journey brought her to the United States, where she dedicated herself to her work as a stitcher for Cliftex Corporation.

Ambrosina was known for her passion for gardening, which mirrored her nurturing spirit. She found joy in cooking and cleaning, always ensuring her home was a warm and welcoming space for family and friends. Above all, her greatest happiness came from spending quality time with her loved ones, embodying the values of family and togetherness. The family takes solace in knowing that Ambrosina's vibrant spirit and loving nature will remain in the hearts of those she touched.

She is survived by her children, Manuel Victorino and his wife, Rosaria of Dartmouth, and Sofia Fita and her husband, John of Kitchener, Ontario, Canada. Ambrosina's legacy continues through her grandchildren, Gerald and his wife Ana, Shannan, Derrick and his wife Sarah, Joshua and his fiance Claudia, and Savanah, as well as her great-grandchildren, Lucas, Ava, Sydney, Austin, and Beckham.

Ambrosina's visiting hours and funeral services will be held on Friday, June 13, 2025. Visiting hours will take place from 8:00 A.M. to 9:30 A.M. and will be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 10:00 A.M. Burial will immediately follow in Rural Cemetery.
