Armenio L. DaSilva

New Bedford – Armenio L. DaSilva, age 85, of New Bedford passed away on Monday, October 2, 2023 at St. Luke’s Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Elidia (Tiburcio) Silva.

Armenio was born in Portugal to the late Baltazar DaSilva and Olympia DaSilva. He was born in Viseu, Portugal. He had lived his youth years in Lisbon, Portugal and moved to Massachusetts, becoming his permanent residence, where he had worked as a machine operator for New England Ropes for many years.  

He enjoyed having coffee daily with friends at Dunkin Donuts, gardening and doing yard work. Armenio was very caring and helpful to others. He loved being a grandfather and his grandkids were a big joy in his life. Most importantly, he always put family first.

Armenio is survived by his wife, Elidia Silva; son, Daniel DaSilva; daughter, Katarina Serpa; 2 grandchildren, Jordyn Serpa and Zaria Anderson; 2 brothers, Abilio Da Silva and José Da Silva both of Portugal; as well as several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Armenio’s visiting hours and funeral service will be held on Friday evening, October 6, 2023 at Perry Funeral Home. Visiting hours will be held from 5:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. with a service to take place during this time. Cremation will follow.
