Cheryl Ann Jackson (Souza), 60, of Dartmouth, passed away on December 27, 2025 surrounded by her loving family after a brief illness at Saint Anne’s Hospital.
Cheryl was born on May 3, 1965, in New Bedford to the late Arthur Souza and the late Jeanne Souza. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who found joy in life’s simple moments.
Cheryl had a deep love for animals and cherished time spent at home, especially sitting by backyard fires, listening to music on Saturday nights, working on puzzles, crafting, and cooking. Above all, she loved spending time with her family, who meant everything to her.
She was the beloved wife of the late Andrew Jackson. The two were married on May 11, 1996, and shared many meaningful years together.
Cheryl worked as a housekeeper at Autumn Glen in Dartmouth, where she was known for her dedication and strong work ethic.
She is survived by her sons, Jarred Souza of New Bedford and Jacob Jackson of Dartmouth; her grandson, Damien Souza of Dartmouth, whom she raised as her own; and her granddaughter, Kiersten Souza.
She is also survived by her brother, Randy Souza Sr. of Fairhaven, and her sister, Donna Souza of Fall River; her nephew, Randy Souza Jr.; her niece, Krystal Crowley; her nephew, Ryan Souza; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. She was predeceased by her niece, Courtney Gomes.
Services and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Cheryl will be remembered for her gentle heart, her love of family, and the warmth she brought to those around her. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Perry Funeral Home, located at 111 Dartmouth St, New Bedford, MA.
