Cheryl Ann (Santos) Thomas passed away unexpectedly at home in Dartmouth on March 9th 2026, at 81 years young. Born on October 22nd 1944 in Provincetown, MA, she was the cherished daughter of late Richard M. Santos and Helen (Pacellini) Santos.She was also predeceased by her former husband,Thomas L.Thomas and sister-in-law,Marion Joan (Thomas) Morgan.
Cheryl's dedication to her family defined her life. After completing high school, she followed her passion for finance and obtained an Associate's Degree at Becker Junior College in bookkeeping. This paved the way for a rewarding career, where she worked diligently as a bank teller for St. Anne’s Credit Union, but only after raising her children dedicating many a years to provide a stable,consistent, and loving household.
She is survived by her two daughters, Jodi Lin Thomas,her husband,James Baker of New Bedford, and Jami Lee (Thomas)Edmundson,her husband,Bruce of Dartmouth,her only grandson,Tyler Richard Edmundson,his wife,Jessica and her two great grandchildren,Harper Leigh and Ryder Blake all of New Bedford.
A fabulous cook,she was happy to put out a spread in her younger years to host any given holiday party or for all the neighborhood kids who always said she was like a second mom to them.She was the designated “Mom taxi”and could always be counted on to fulfill a schedule of events.She will be remembered for her stories of P-town and its glory days where she was a resident,waitress,and member of the reputable local sailing club and graduate of PHS in 1962.
Private funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Perry Funeral Home, located at 111 Dartmouth Street, New Bedford, MA.
