Dorothy P. (Avellar) Rapoza

Fall River – Dorothy P. (Avellar) Rapoza, age 93, of New Bedford, MA, passed away on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at Carvalho Oak Grove Health & Rehab Center. She was the beloved wife of the late William F. Rapoza.

Born in New Bedford, MA she was the daughter of the late Gerald Avellar and Eva (St. Denis) Avellar. She had been a waitress and later went on to retire from Shaw’s Supermarket of Dartmouth after working there for several years.

Dorothy is survived by her relatives, Debbie Adams and her family of Minnesota, Mary Lou Humphries and her family of Dartmouth, MA; cousins, Gloria and Norma St. Denis of Washington State and Susan and Mary Jo Avellar of Provincetown; her dear friend, Pat DosSantos of New Bedford; her beloved dog, Nicky; as well as many other wonderful friends.
