Eileen (Caton) Rice, aged 94, of Dartmouth, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 24, 2026, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Her departure marks the end of a life filled with dedication, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to those she cared for most.
Born on September 12, 1931, in New Bedford, Massachusetts, Eileen was the cherished daughter of the late Louis Caton, Sr. and Mary (Almeida) Caton. Throughout her life, she demonstrated a profound devotion to family and community, qualities that defined her character and enriched the lives of those around her.
Eileen was the wife of the late Leo Lescarbeau. She carried forward her nurturing spirit into her professional life, working as a home health aide for many years. Through this vocation, she touched numerous lives, providing comfort and care in times of vulnerability—a testament to her compassionate nature.
She is survived by her devoted son, Jeffrey Lescarbeau, who continues to honor her legacy; her sister, Beverly Boutin and brother, Dennis Caton; as well as her cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren, along with nieces and nephews, all of whom held a special place in her heart. She was also the mother of the late Stephen Lescarbeau.
In her passing, Eileen leaves a legacy defined by kindness, strength, and the quiet dignity with which she met life’s challenges. Her family and community remember her fondly and will miss her gentle presence deeply. Her life was one of dedication—to her family, her work, and the community. Her memory will endure in the hearts of all who knew her, a lasting tribute to a life well lived.
