Emilia G. Vieira

New Bedford – Emilia G. Vieira, age 92, of New Bedford, MA passed away on Friday, April 26, 2024 Saint Lukes Hospital in New Bedford, MA.

Emilia was born in New Bedford, MA to the late John Goncalves Vieira and Maria (Lopes) Vieira. Prior to entering Assisted Living, she lived her entire life on Winterville Road in New Bedford. 

She worked as a nurse’s aide at the Adult Day Care at Brandon Woods of Dartmouth until her retirement. She was an ardent reader, enjoyed watching movies and especially playing Bingo.  She loved to laugh and was known for her good sense of humor.

Emilia is survived by her friend and neighbor Carol Barton and her husband Paul; and her nephews, Victor and Nicholas Vieira of Wisconsin.

She was predeceased by her brother John J. Vieira.

Emilia’s funeral service will be held on Friday May 3, 2024 at 9:30 A.M. at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church 283 Mill St, New Bedford, MA 02740. Immediately followed by a burial in Saint John’s Cemetery 664 Allen St, New Bedford, MA 02740. 

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth Street, New Bedford MA.
