Eva Nilda (Iturrino) DeJesus

Eva Nilda (Iturrino) DeJesus, age 96, of New Bedford, MA, passed away on Thursday, October 30, 2025, peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on September 13, 1929, in Añasco, Puerto Rico, to the late Cecilia Iturrino.

Eva was a joyful and spirited woman who cherished life’s simple pleasures. She loved spending time at home surrounded by loved ones, listening to her favorite music, and enjoying a good cocktail in the company of family and friends. Known for her warmth, laughter, and unwavering dedication, Eva brought happiness to all who knew her. She was deeply family-oriented and will be remembered for her strength, generosity, and the love she shared so freely with everyone around her.

Eva is survived by her daughter's Magaly Romero, Adabel Cuevas and her late sons Manuel Valentine, Elvin Valentin, Manuel Caraballo, Elvin Nieves, Juan A. Perez, Jose E. Santos, and Miguel Perez.

Eva has many grandchildren and great grandchildren that were also fortunate to be able to have her in their lives as well.

Eva’s visiting hours will be held on November 5, 2025, from 5:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. Her funeral services will be held on November 6, 2025 beginnning in the funeral home at 10:00 A.M. Followed by a service to take place at 11:00 A.M. Burial will immediately follow in Rural Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Perry Funeral Home, located at 111 Dartmouth St, New Bedford, MA, which offers an ample lighted parking lot and is equipped with a handicap-accessible ramp and entrance for all who wish to pay their respects.
