Filipe Jorge, a cherished member of his family and community, passed away on August 20, 2025, at the Royal of Fairhaven, at the remarkable age of 93. He was the beloved husband of the late Maria L. (Rosa) Jorge, whose memory lingered lovingly in his heart.
Born on November 8, 1931, in Faial, Azores, Filipe was the son of the late Jose Silveira Jorge and Maria (Garcia) Jorge. His life journey led him to become a presser for Madewell Manufacturing, where he dedicated many years honing his craft. Filipe possessed a deep appreciation for the beauty of the past, often spending his leisure time exploring antique shops. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life, particularly taking strolls around Buttonwood Park, where nature and tranquility were his companions.
Filipe's legacy lives on through his loving family. He is survived by his children, Mary DaSilva and her late husband Daniel, Lidia Silva and her husband Cesar, Deolinda Couture and her husband Richard, late Antonio F. Jorge, Lucia Ferreira and her husband Everett, Jr., Alice Medeiros and her husband Scott.
His spirit also thrives in the hearts of his grandchildren, Jessica Pray, Jason Silva, Kyle Pimental, late Daniel DaSilva, Jr., late Monique DaSilva, Lynda Fernandes, Kayla Geleney, Jared Ferreira, Austin Ferreira, and Jasmine DaSilva. Filipe delighted in the company of his great-grandchildren, Ava, Ayden, Avery, Ayla, Juliette, Saylor, Jolee, and Asher, who brought joy and light to his later years.
He is further survived by his siblings, Antonio N. Jorge and Luis Jorge, along with an extended family that includes many nieces and nephews, all of whom will miss his warm presence and wise words.
Filipe was preceded in death by a number of beloved siblings, including Maria G, Jose, Manuel, Arturo, Antonio, Francisco, Eduino, Balbina, Alice, Maria Lurdes, Maria C., Fatima, and Venaranda. Their memories remain intertwined with his, creating a tapestry of love and resilience that he carried throughout his life.
Filipe will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. In honoring his life, we celebrate a man who touched the lives of many with his kindness, gentle spirit, and unwavering love for his family.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during visiting hours on Monday, August 25, 2025, from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Perry Funeral Home. A funeral service will take place on Tuesday morning, beginning at 9:00 A.M. in the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 10:00 A.M. Filipe will be laid to rest immediately after in Rural Cemetery.
