Geraldina Medeiros (Barbeira) Pacheco

Geraldina Medeiros (Barbeira) Pacheco, age 89, of New Bedford, MA, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Alberto Amaral Pacheco and is now reunited with him in eternal rest.

Born on September 25, 1935, in Ribeira Grande, Sao Miguel, Azores, Geraldina was the cherished daughter of the late Jose Inacio Barbeira and Maria De Medeiros Coroa. Throughout her life, she exemplified the qualities of a loving homemaker, dedicating herself wholeheartedly to her family and nurturing a warm household that served as a testament to her devotion and care.

Geraldina's legacy continues through her children: Carlos Pacheco and his wife Ana, Paula Medeiros and her husband Emanuel, Lucia Machado and her husband Joe, Helena Botelho and her husband Jose, and Cidália Correia and her husband Fernando. She was a proud grandmother to 13 grandchildren, and her family circle expanded to include 20 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, each one a reflection of her love and commitment to family.

Her family invites friends and loved ones to celebrate her extraordinary life. Visiting hours will be held on Monday, July 14, 2025, from 8:00 A.M. to 9:30 A.M., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 10:00 A.M. She will be laid to rest in Rural Cemetery immediately following the service.

The Pacheco family wishes to express their gratitude to all who shared in Geraldina's life. Her spirit will forever remain alive in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
