Gilbert Cabral, Jr., age 78, of Middleboro, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at Vantage at New Bedford, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on July 13, 1947, in New Bedford, Massachusetts, Gilbert was the cherished son of the late Gilbert Cabral and Hilda Cabral. Throughout his life, he was known for his dedication and hard work, having served as a custodian for Lincoln Park, where he contributed quietly but significantly to the community.

Gilbert is survived by his sister, Gloria Brie, and brother, Kenneth Cabral, who remember him with deep affection. He was also the nephew of the late Elsie Sylvia and Simon Cabral, whose memory he honored throughout his life. His departure leaves a quiet void in the hearts of those who knew him. He will be remembered for his unwavering commitment to family and community, and his gentle presence will surely be missed by all who had the privilege to know him.

A visitation and funeral service to celebrate Gilbert’s life will be held on Friday, May 8, 2026, at Perry Funeral Home. Visiting hours take place from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed immediately by a funeral service at 12:00 PM. Burial will take place afterwards at St. John’s Cemetery.
