Gregory L. Perry

Gregory L. Perry, age 64, of Powhatan, Virginia, passed away at St. Luke’s Hospital on Friday, November 21, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Maria G. (Arruda) Perry, who provided unwavering support and companionship throughout their years together.

Born on July 29, 1961, in Kingsland, England, Gregory was the cherished son of William Thomas Perry Jr. and Dolly Elizabeth (Finley) Perry. His parents instilled in him values of hard work and dedication, which he exemplified in his professional life. Gregory made significant contributions to the field of energy as a Turbine Consultant for Dominion Energy, where he served for 34 years. He also worked at Mechanical Diagnostic Analysis for 7 years, showcasing his expertise and commitment as a Project Manager.

Gregory in his free time loved to attend Nascar Racing events and build go-kart motors. He also liked to travel and spend time with his family.

Gregory is survived by his wife, Maria G. Perry, his daughter, Stephanie Soares and her husband Nelson Soares, his son, Kevin Janeiro and his wife Brittany Janeiro, his five grandsons, Memphis, Tristin, Andre, Elye Soares and Brendan Janeiro and his granddaughter Sophia Bradsley. He was also survived his sister, Linda Henkel, and brother, Thomas Perry and his wife Kay Perry; as well as his nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his son, Brandon Perry and brother, Timothy Perry.

His warmth, humor, and kindness enriched the lives of those around him. He will also be remembered for his love of family, his dedication to his work, and the lasting impact he made on those fortunate enough to know him

Visiting hours for Gregory will be held on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at Perry Funeral Home from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M., with a service to take place during this time. Following the service, cremation will follow.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Perry Funeral Home, located at 111 Dartmouth St, New Bedford, MA.
