Jaime Linhares, aged 76, of New Bedford, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at Bay Side Medical Center. Born on November 10, 1949, in Sao Miguel Azores, Jaime was a cherished son of the late Manuel Linhares and Maria Inez (Ferreira) Linhares.

Throughout his life, Jaime demonstrated a deep commitment to service and hard work. He proudly served in the Portuguese Army, exemplifying dedication and patriotism. Following his military service, he made the courageous decision to move to the United States, where he established a career as a landscaper, contributing to the beauty and care of many homes and communities.

Jaime's legacy is marked by his unwavering commitment to his family, his dedication to service, and his quiet strength. He will be remembered with respect and affection by all whose lives he touched.

Jaime leaves behind a loving family who will forever honor his memory. He is survived by his daughter, Andreia Vieira; his son, his treasured grandchildren, Harper, Rowan, and Wyatt Soares. He also is survived by his brothers, Hildeberto Linhares, Agostinho Linhares, and Francisco Linhares, along with his sisters, Virginia Linhares Rezendes and Lucia Linhares Furtado. Their presence is a testament to the strong family bonds that Jaime fostered throughout his life.

A time for family, friends, and all who knew Jaime to gather and celebrate his life will be held on Wednesday, May 27, 2026. Visiting hours and a service will take place at Perry Funeral Home from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Following the service, a cremation will be conducted in accordance with Jaime’s wishes.

Perry Funeral Home, entrusted with the arrangements, provides a respectfully appointed facility featuring a lighted parking lot and a handicap-accessible ramp and entrance, ensuring comfort and convenience for all who attend.
