James Freeman Rogers Jr., 61, of New Bedford, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on July 5, 2025, in his hometown.

Born on December 27, 1963, in New Bedford, James was the beloved son of James F. Rogers Sr. and Betty Ann Pina- Rogers. A proud U.S. Army veteran, James served his country with honor and dedication.

James will be remembered for his quick wit and signature sense of humor. He had a deep love of reading and enjoyed long bike rides that allowed him to reflect and connect with the world around him.

He is survived by his loving siblings: Deitra De La Cruz and her husband Jesus; Heidi Almeida and her husband Steven of Atlanta; Cindy Rivera; Amanda Lee Rogers; and Olga Rogers and her husband Charles Kearns of Virginia. He was preceded in death by his brother, John August Rogers. James also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, all of whom he cared for deeply.

James’s presence will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him. His memory will live on through shared stories, laughter, and the love he gave so freely.
