Jose Da Silva Le

Jose Da Silva Le, 88, of New Bedford, MA, died peacefully after a short battle with cancer on June 30th, 2023. Jose was surrounded by his loving family in weeks preceding his passing. 

Jose was born in Lavos Figueira-da-Foz, Portugal to Jose Felix Le Novo and Albertina Da Silva. He enjoyed life close to the sea, ultimately becoming a dory-fisherman in early adulthood, before moving to Bradford, Ontario Canada. Jose and his wife Rosa raised their two sons Joe and Carlos in Canada, before moving to New Bedford, MA where they started Le Lobster, a successful fish processing and distribution company. Jose enjoyed spending time at his homes in both Massachusetts and Portugal. He loved life with his wife, summers with his granddaughters in Portugal, fishing, a glass of red wine and his beloved Sporting soccer team.  

Jose was preceded in death by his son Carlos Le, of New Bedford, MA.

Jose is survived by his wife Rosa Le, son Joe Le, granddaughter Monique Le Anguiano, her husband Frank, great-grandson Lincoln Anguiano of Jersey City, NJ, granddaughter Kelly Le Mildfelt, her husband Adam, and great-granddaughter Penelope Mildfelt of Chicago, IL. 

Jose, our beloved husband, father and Vovô, will always be remembered with much love and happiness. May he forever rest in peace with our dear Carlos in heaven. 

Jose's memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 29, 2023 at Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth Street, New Bedford, MA 02740 from 12:30PM to 2:00 PM.
