Joseph P. Moses

January 23, 1972 — February 10, 2024

Dartmouth

Joseph “Enzo” Paul Moses peacefully passed away in the early morning of February 10, 2024 with his beloved wife April by his side.

Joey was an amazing son, husband, older brother, father, uncle, nephew, cuz, car enthusiast, “pow” rider, mountain biker, foosball champion, Celts fan, wisecrack artist, hang-out king, friend, do-anything-for-anybody kind of guy.

If you knew Joe, you could easily come up with your own list of who he was to you. Not only that, but you could make a list of all the things he did for you, while asking nothing in return.

He had a way of making everyone he interacted with feel like he had known them for years. He made you his family.

If you were lucky enough to go on one of Joey’s ride-alongs, you never knew where the day would take you, but it usually consisted of stopping for coffee with the dogs, running errands for someone he was helping out, stopping to visit people in the neighborhood, then ending with food and drinks.

He was a jack of all trades and was the go-to for all things. If you had a car problem, needed a new snowboard setup or new bike, had a plumbing issue (the list is endless), Joe was your guy. And if he couldn’t fix it, he knew someone who could.

Growing up the oldest, he started his driving career at four years old (much to his mother’s dismay), loved sports due to his grandfather, mother and father, and took care of his younger siblings, cousins, and eventually his son Evan when he married April Souza in the fall of 2018.

Joey’s smile was contagious, not only because he had a great smile, but because he had a quick wit and always came equipped with a playful joke or comeback. He was the party, and everyone always wanted to be around him.

So keep the party going.

Raise a glass, share a memory and smile.

Here’s to first chair and last calls.

We love you, Joey, and miss you too much.

He is survived by his beloved wife and companion of 16 years, April Moses and son Evan Mendoza; his father, Thomas Moses; siblings, Leilah Moses Silveira and her husband Jeffrey, Jesse Moses, Jacob Moses, and Damara Moses; his uncles, Joseph Barckett and wife Catherine, George Moses and wife Caryl, Gregory (predeceased), and Paul Moses; as well as aunts, Marianne Shaker, and husband Michael, Anita Moses and partner Paul and Ruthie Moses (predeceased). He also leaves behind his mother-in-law, Glenda Souza and father-in-law, Randy Souza; step father-in-law, Kevin Leahy; as well as his sister-in-law, Ashley Agnew and her husband Derek. He leaves behind his truly loved nieces and nephews, as well as too many cousins and friends to count.

Joey was predeceased by his mother, Diane Moses.

Joe’s life will be celebrated in the Spring.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Perry Funeral Home Inc., 111 Dartmouth Street, New Bedford, MA
