Leonora (Aguiar) Ramos, age 98, of Dartmouth, MA passed away on Wednesday, May 6, 2026 at Alden Court Nursing Care and Rehabilitation Center surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Lionel P Ramos with whom she had shared 65 years of marriage.
Born December 2, 1927 in New Bedford, MA, Leonora was the cherished daughter of the late Euclides and Maria Rosa (Pereira) Aguiar. A graduate of New Bedford Schools, she retired after many years of working as a capacitor winder for a local electronics manufacturer.
Leonora was an avid reader, strong swimmer, dancer and sports enthusiast. She loved watching Hallmark movies and anxiously anticipated both the Patriots and Red Sox baseball seasons. She loved playing cards and Bingo, especially playing it for scratch tickets with family on special holidays and visits. She loved reading to her grandchildren and helped to raise several. It was a habit to always read the newspaper, watch TV news, and especially listen daily to her transistor radio to stay up with currents events. She was sharp, nearly to the end.
Leonora is survived by her devoted daughters and sons-in-law Elizabeth and Anthony Thomas, Doreen and Michael Robinson; grandchildren Kendra Harris (Kevin), Tara Thomas Vadnais (Mark), Erik Thomas (Gina), Jason (Angela), Jeffrey, Benjamin (Krystal)Blier, and Jacob (Katie) Robinson, Daniel Gauthier (Jen), step- Stacey, Jenifer and Lauren (Jen) Robinson; 21 great- grandchildren (16 and 5 step); 5 great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is also survived by her two younger sisters Eva Arruda of Dartmouth and Madelaine Przewozeny of New Bedford. She was pre-deceased by her brothers Manuel, Annibal, Euclides Jr, Edward , and sisters Mary, Caroline, Dorothy, Bernice, and Anna.
Leonora’s visitation and funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2026. Visitation will be held from 8:30 AM – 9:30 AM at Perry Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow at 10:00 AM at St. Julie Billiart Church. Burial will immediately follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Perry Funeral Home, located at 111 Dartmouth Street, New Bedford, Massachusetts.
