Lourenco DaSilva Conde, age 79, of New Bedford, MA, entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior on Thursday, February 26, 2026, at Tufts Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family. A faithful servant of God, he lived a life rooted in devotion, prayer, and unwavering trust in Christ.
Born on September 5, 1946, in Murtosa, Portugal, he was the son of the late Antonio M. Conde and Ludovina Da Silva Conde. Lourenco spent many years working as a fisherman, finding strength and purpose on the sea while faithfully providing for his family. In 2001, answering God’s call on his life, he was ordained as a Pastor. From that moment forward, he dedicated himself wholeheartedly to preaching the Gospel, shepherding others, and serving the Lord with humility and compassion.
He was the cherished husband of Irene (Matos) Conde, his devoted partner in life and in faith. Together, they built a family grounded in love and in Christ. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Irene; his daughter, Susan Conde; and his son, Jerry Conde and his wife, Nancy Lee, of Dartmouth. He was a proud grandfather to Ashlyn Marie (Conde) Torres, Kyle Austin Conde, and Kaitlyn Nicole Conde; and a treasured great-grandfather to Ayden James Cabral and Landon Grey Torres.
He is also survived by his siblings, Alfredo Conde; Maria DaSilva of Murtosa, Portugal; Maria Jose Barroqueiro; and Fernando Conde; along with many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Antonio Conde and Manuel Conde.
Pastor Lourenço’s life was a testimony of faith, perseverance, and love. He taught by example — through prayer, through service, and through the quiet strength of a man who trusted God in every season of life. He will also be remembered for his easy smile, his contagious laughter, and the sense of humor that brought lightness even to the most difficult moments. Though his family mourns his earthly passing, they take comfort in the promise of eternal life and the assurance that he now rests in the arms of his Savior.
“Well done, good and faithful servant.” — Matthew 25:23
