Lucia "Lucy" Ferreria

Lucia (Lucy) Ferreira, age 64, of New Bedford, passed away unexpectedly September 4th at St. Luke’s Hospital.

Born in St. Michael, Azores she was the beloved daughter of the late Jose Ferreira and Isabel (Costa) Ferreira and the lifelong partner of the late Thomas Berard. Lucia worked in the fishing industry all of her life while also being a full time mother and homemaker to her four beautiful children, and an amazing grandmother to her twin grandsons who she treasured, she loved her family and cooking while listening to her favorite Johnny Cash, she was not only just a mother, daughter, sister, grandmother and aunt but she was also a friend to everyone with her heart of gold, always willing to help in any way she could as well as share her smile and laughter and her love with...

She is survived by her children, her son Shaun Ferreira and his wife Amanda, her daughter Nicole Ferreira, her son Kyle Ferreira and her daughter Jamie Ferreira; her Twin grandsons Kingston Ferreira and Chance Ferreira; siblings, Ana Couto and her husband Jose, John Ferreira, Joe Ferreira and his wife Ana and Frank Ferreira; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was also the sister of the late Fatima Ferreira, Steven Ferreira, Gloria Ferreira and Eduardo Ferreira, Adriana Dunn, and Grace Ferreira. She was also the aunt of the late Cliff Raposo and Bryan Tavares.
