Manuel A. Branco, age 87, of Dartmouth, MA, passed away on Friday, September 26, 2025, at St. Luke’s Hospital, with his loving wife and family by his side. He was the cherished husband of Francelina J. (Melo) Branco.
Born on January 25, 1938, in Ponta Delgada, Sao Miguel, Azores, Manuel was the beloved son of the late Antonio “Chibante” Branco and Olivia Moniz (Barbosa) Branco. His life was marked by dedication and commitment, exemplified during his career as a Superintendent at the Town of Dartmouth’s Department of Public Works, a role he held until his well-deserved retirement.
Manuel was known as a loving soul with an adventurous spirit. He had a passion for travel and treasured the moments spent with his wife, Fran, and their family, creating memories that will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Manuel will be deeply missed, yet his memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Francelina Branco; his loving sister, Maria do Rosario BrancoAgostinho his brother-in-law, John Melo; his sisters-in-law, Cecelia Monteiro, Ana Augustine and her husband David, and Jacqueline Melo and her husband John; as well as his nieces and nephew, Dorothy, Shawn, Michelle, Karen andlate nephew, Derek. Their lives were enriched by his presence, and they will forever remember him for his kindness and love.
Manuel’s funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 10:00 A.M. All attendees are kindly asked to meet directly at the church. Cremation will follow.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Perry Funeral Home, which offers ample lighted parking and is equipped with a handicap-accessible ramp entrance to facilitate ease for all who wish to pay their respects.
