Maria D. Almeida

New Bedford – Maria D. (Correia) Almeida, age 72, of New Bedford, MA passed away on Monday, January 22, 2024 at Brandon Woods of Dartmouth. She was the beloved wife of Carlos Almeida.

Maria was born in Sao Miguel, Azores to the late Jose Correia and Ana (Costa) Correia. She had worked as a stitcher at various local clothing manufacturers.

Maria is survived by her loving husband, Carlos Almeida; her son, Kevin Almeida; grandchildren, MacKenzie Almeida and Lylianah Almeida; her siblings, Ana beard and her husband Philip; Joseph Correia and his wife Susanna and Manuel Correia and his wife Avelina; as well as several nieces and nephews. 

Maria’s visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at Perry Funeral Home from 6:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. Her funeral will take place Thursday morning, beginning in the funeral home at 9:00 A.M. and followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 10:00 A.M. Burial will immediately follow in Rural Cemetery.
