Maria (Silva) Claudina

Maria (Silva) Claudina, age 77, of New Bedford, passed away on Monday, November 17, 2025, at Charlton Memorial Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. She was the cherished wife of Antonio C. Claudina.

Born on May 19, 1948, in Sao Miguel, Azores, Maria was the beloved daughter of the late Joao DaCosta and Maria Ludovina (Silva) DaCosta. Throughout her life, she exhibited a strong work ethic, having worked at Hawthorne medical for many years, but ultimately her love and dedication to her family was the center of her world.

Maria is survived by her husband, Antonio C. Claudina; her three sons, Antonio J. Claudina and his wife, Margaret, Manuel Claudina, and Sergio Claudina; and her three beloved grandchildren, Nicholas Claudina, Kaitlyn Claudina, and Abby Claudina. She is also survived by her sister, Maria Borges, whom she holds many cherished memories of their time together. Along with her husband, Sidonio Borges and their children, Bruno Borges and Claudia Borges. Also survived by her sister, Olga Costa.

Her spirit and love for everyone will always be remembered, leaving a lasting legacy in the hearts of those she touched.

Maria's visiting hours will be held on Sunday, November 23, 2025, at Perry Funeral Home from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Her funeral will take place Monday morning, beginning at the funeral home at 9:00 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 10:00 AM. Burial will immediately follow in Rural Cemetery.
