Maria dos Anjos Lapointe (Martins)

Maria dos Anjos Lapointe (Martins), 54, of New Bedford, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on October 26, 2025, at Saint Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford with her loving family by her side.

Born on August 1, 1971 in Água de Pau, Azores, Portugal, Maria was the beloved daughter of the late José Martins and Maria Joana Martins (Remédios). She was a loving mother to her cherished children, Felicity Lapointe and Corbynn Lapointe, both of New Bedford.

Maria is also survived by her dear siblings, Manuel Martins and his wife Delta Martins, and Ana Branco and her husband Rui Branco. She was a proud and caring aunt to her nieces Ashley Pimentel, Courtney Mapp, Nicole Branco, and Mackenzie Martins.

Maria’s greatest joy in life was spending time with her children and family. She loved traveling and creating lasting memories with her cousins, who remember her fondly for her warmth, laughter, and the love she shared so freely. Maria also worked as a manager at Mcdonald’s.

Her kindness, strength, and devotion to family will remain in the hearts of all who knew her.

Maria’s life will be honored during visiting hours held on Tuesday November 4, 2025, at Perry Funeral Home from 8:00 A.M. to 9:30 A.M., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 10:00 A.M. Cremation to follow Church service

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to support her surviving children.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Perry Funeral Home, located at 111 Dartmouth St, New Bedford, MA, which offers an ample lighted parking lot and is equipped with a handicap-accessible ramp and entrance for all who wish to pay their respects.
