Maria Emilia Caravela Pereira

Maria Emilia Caravela Pereira, age 93, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 16, 2026, at her home in the presence of her loving family. Born on March 28, 1932, in Torreira, Portugal, Maria was the cherished daughter of the late Alfredo DeJesus Mariano and Palmira Caravela. She dedicated many years of her life to her work as a Wire Tender at a Trailer Factory, embodying a strong work ethic and a commitment to her craft. 

Maria was the beloved wife of the late Raimundo dos Santos Tavares Pereira, with whom she shared a lifetime of love and devotion. Together, they created a nurturing environment for their family, which Maria continued to cultivate long after his passing.

Maria is survived by her three children: Natalia Cunha, Manuel Pereira and his wife Ana Paula, and Maria Do Rosario Pereira. Her legacy continues with her grandchildren, Melissa Lebel and her husband David, Brian Pereira and his wife Melissa, and Jennifer Cunha and her husband Paulo Fonseca, as well as Kevin Pereira and his wife Luda, Becky Fernandes and her husband Ruben, and Veronica Silva and her husband Joao Costa. 

Maria also cherished her great-grandchildren: Kayden and Grayson Fonseca, Gavin Pereira, Luke Pereira, Kaylee Fernandes, Bryan Costa, David Pereira, Liam Fernandes, and Dylan Costa. She is further survived by one brother, and many nieces and nephews who will remember her warmth, kindness, and strength.

Maria will be dearly missed but forever remembered by all who knew her.

Maria's life will be honored and celebrated during visiting hours and funeral services held on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at Perry Funeral Home. Visiting hours are scheduled from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M., with a service to begin at noon. Following the service, burial will take place in South Dartmouth Cemetery.
