Maria Samagaio

New Bedford – Maria D. (Borges) Samagaio, age 78, of Dartmouth, MA passed away on Thursday, January 25, 2024 at Hathaway Manor Extended Care. She was the beloved wife of the late Augusto P. Samagaio.

Maria was born in Terceira, Portugal to the late Sebastiao Borges and Ilda Rocha. She had worked for Harvey Industries as a framer for many years. She loved her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and animals.

Maria is survived by her sons, Augusto R. Samagaio, Clifford R. Samagaio and Nicolas Samagaio; her brothers, Carlos Borges and Jose Borges; 9 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was also the mother of the late Steven R. Samagaio and mother-in-law of the late Lisa Samagaio.

Maria’s visiting hours will be held at Perry Funeral Home on Monday evening, January 29, 2024 from 5:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. with a service to be held during visiting hours. Cremation to follow.
