In Loving Memory of Maritza Hernandez-Rodriguez

Maritza Hernandez-Rodriguez, age 58, of New Bedford, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 4, 2026, at her home, surrounded by the love of her family. She was the beloved wife of Edwin Rosado.

Born on March 14, 1968, in Brooklyn, New York, Maritza was the cherished daughter of Carmen Hernandez-Rodriguez and Sixto Hernandez-Gerana.

Maritza was a woman of extraordinary resilience, unwavering faith, and boundless love. Throughout her life, she faced many hardships, yet she never allowed them to define her. She pursued her education in secretarial services and worked in Human Resources before a tragic accident left her with a disability. Determined not to give up, she returned to school to pursue her lifelong dream of becoming a professional chef and baker by studying culinary arts, pastry, and baking. Although another tragic accident interrupted that dream, her faith and perseverance never wavered.

Especially after 2021, Maritza became a living testimony of God's faithfulness. She carried His Word in her heart and was always ready to share His goodness and the healing He had worked in her life. Her joyful spirit, warm smile, and compassionate heart touched everyone she met. She loved her family deeply, encouraged others through every season, and remained steadfast in her faith until her final breath.

Maritza truly fought the good fight, kept the faith, and left behind a legacy of strength, compassion, and unwavering trust in the Lord that will continue to inspire all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Edwin Rosado; her loving children, Lourdes Giraud Rosado, Karen Rosado, Yahida Rosado, Ashley Rosado, and Giovanni Rosado; her beloved parents, Carmen Hernandez-Rodriguez and Sixto Hernandez-Gerana; her cherished siblings, Jeanette Toro, Rosalyn Hernandez, and Sixto Hernandez Jr.; her treasured nieces, Neyshali Toro-Lacen, Nayeli Toro, and Elimary Viera; along with many extended family members, dear friends, and brothers and sisters in Christ whose lives she touched through her love and unwavering faith.
