Mary August-Freitas

Mary A. August-Freitas, age 72, of Dartmouth, MA passed away on October 13, 2026 after a courageous battle with cancer with her beloved family by her side. She was the cherished wife of Gary J. Freitas.

Mary was born on September 15, 1954 in Acushnet, MA. She was wrapped in endless love by her husband, Gary; her daughter, Catie, and husband, Scott; their children, Max and Alex, and their partners, Avali and Amy; her sister, Janice August, and partner, Armand Duquette; loving friends Sue and Joe Swift and their children—Mary's godchild, Jacob and nephew Adam Swift; beloved friend Ashlee and her children, Kenx, Kami, and Charlotte; and close family friends Maria and John Walker and their children, William and Oliver. She loved every one of them back without measure.

Per her wishes, Mary’s funeral services were held in private.

Arrangements are by Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth Street, New Bedford, Massachusetts, which offers convenient facilities, including a lighted parking lot and wheelchair accessibility for attendees.
