Maureen Ann “Penny” Pena

Maureen Ann “Penny” Pena, 72, of New Bedford, Massachussetts, passed away unexpectedly on October 11, 2025.

Born in New Bedford, Massachussetts, Penny graduated from Lawrence High School. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a friend whose kindness, loyalty, and generous spirit touched everyone who knew her.

Penny was a dedicated employee of Stop & Shop, where she proudly worked for 30 years. Her strong work ethic, warm smile, and caring nature made her beloved by both coworkers and customers alike.

She was the proud mother of Tiffanie Pena and Marc Pena, and the devoted grandmother of Waasia Ahmad, Nasir Ahmad, Desmani Martin, Damian Harrison, Donye Harrison, Daisia Pena, Marc Pena Jr., and Laveyla Tiexeira. She was also blessed with a great-granddaughter, Avery Ahmad, who brought her endless joy.

She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Manuel and Georgianna Pena of West Falmouth, and her siblings Cesar “Sonny” Pena and Melvina Lucky Scott. She is survived by her brother, Melving “Jake” Pena, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins who loved her dearly.

Visitation hours will be held on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St., New Bedford, MA 02740.

Penny will be remembered for her loving heart, her laughter, and her deep devotion to her family. She will be missed beyond words and remembered with love forever.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Perry Funeral Home, located at 111 Dartmouth St, New Bedford, MA, which provides ample lighted parking and is equipped with a handicap-accessible ramp and entrance for all who wish to pay their respects.
