Paul E. Richard, age 75, of New Bedford, MA, passed away on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at Hathaway Manor, surrounded by the love of his family. He was the beloved husband of Helen (Furtado) Richard.

Born on July 26, 1950, Paul was the cherished son of the late Ernest Richard and Doris (Perry) Richard. He was a lifelong resident of New Bedford and took great pride in his local roots. Paul graduated from New Bedford High School and furthered his education at Southeastern Massachusetts University (S.M.U), where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree. His professional career led him to work in Sales for Corrugated Packaging Company, a role he held until his retirement.

Paul was known not only for his dedication to his career but also for his unwavering support of his favorite sports teams. An avid Red Sox and New York Giants fan, he relished every opportunity to cheer for his teams, celebrating their triumphs and supporting them through their challenges.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Helen Richard; his daughter, Lisa Medeiros and her husband Mark; two granddaughters, Tara Evalente and her fiancé Jeffrey Fonseca, and Paige E. Trigueiro and her husband Timothy; and his treasured great-grandson, Benjamin Valente. Paul is further survived by his brother, Conrad Richard and his wife Sara, as well as several nieces and nephews, all of whom carry cherished memories of their time with him.

Paul was predeceased by his late son, David M. Richard and his late brother, Gerard Richard. His legacy of love and dedication to family will long endure in the hearts of those he leaves behind.

Private funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Perry Funeral Home, located at 111 Dartmouth St, New Bedford, MA.
