Dartmouth- It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Paulo Batista, age 51, from Dartmouth, Massachusetts, on his travels home on Wednesday, June 4, 2025. Paulo was a beloved husband to Raquel Batista. Originally from Sintra, Portugal, he was born on August 10, 1973, to Orlando Batista and Maria Dacosta. Paulo dedicated his career to serving as an assistant manager at the registry of motor vehicles, where his commitment to helping others was widely recognized and appreciated.
Outside of his professional career, Paulo spent much of his youth on the soccer field, where his passion for the sport blossomed into a meaningful commitment. As a youth soccer coach at the New England Football Club, he made a lasting impact on every child he mentored. Paulo inspired young players to believe in themselves, both on and off the field, instilling confidence and resilience. His enthusiasm for the game was infectious, spreading joy and fostering a love for soccer in all of his players. Additionally he enjoyed simple pleasures such as days at beach and long drives. Above all, he was a devoted family man, treasuring the time spent with his wife and children, especially during ice cream outings and magical trips to Disney and Universal.
Paulo is survived by his loving wife, Raquel Batista, their children, Lucas M. and Isabella M. Batista, his father Orlando Batista and his wife Eduarda Rodrigues, his mother and stepfather Maria and Agnelo Dacosta, his sisters Nancy Caswell and Isabel Miguel, his sisters-in-law Elisa Matias, and Carla Borges, as well as his mother-in-law Sara Figueiras, and his grandmother Maria Sousa and Elizabeth Goncalves. Along with several nieces and nephews and his cat Snowball.
