Phyllis (Sylvia) Daviski, beloved and devoted mother, sister and grandmother, passed away on Friday, June 27, 2025, at the age of 92 at the Oaks with her daughter by her side.
Phyllis was born in New Bedford to the late Rose (Oliver) Sylvia and Edward Sylvia, was a lifelong resident of Dartmouth and New Bedford.. She worked as a Home Health Aide for Community Nurse of Fairhaven until her retirement.
Phyllis was a lover of music, loved to sing, and she could be caught singing anywhere at any time, she was also an avid reader in her earlier days, loved to play bingo, cards, head out for ice cream or take rides in the country side, especially going by her grandparents old dairy farm house in Dartmouth where she had many happy memories. Those who knew Phyllis will remember her for her witty sense of humor, beautiful smile, compassion and kindness. She was always there to lend a helping hand to others and never asked or expected anything in return, she loved her family beyond measures was one of a kind and will be deeply missed.
Phyllis was the beloved mother of Carla Chixarro of New Bedford and Joyce Sylvia of Manchester New Hampshire, both of whom will miss her deeply. She is survived by her son-in-law Robert Chixarro, whom she loved like a son, her wonderful grandchildren, Jesse Gomes, Joelle Gomes, Dakota Chixarro and stepgrandson Tyler Chixarro, 2 great grandsons, Jesse Gomes ll and Joseph Gomes, 2 stepgreatgrandsons, Grayson and Rowan Chixarro, her siblings, Arlene Wayner-Silva, Dennis Sylvia and June Cournoyer as well as several nieces and nephews She was predeceased by her beautiful daughter Christine Gomes, her grandson Stephen Andrew Viator, brothers Edward and Frank Sylvia.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Perry Funeral Home, located at 111 Dartmouth Street, New Bedford.
