Priscilla Mae (Vieira) Cabeca, aged 84, of New Bedford, MA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 20, 2025, at St. Luke’s Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. A truly cherished individual, she was the beloved wife of Anthony V. Cabeca, with whom she shared a life full of love and companionship. Together they enjoyed attending local festivals, meeting friends, and sharing meals.
Born on January 21, 1941, in New Bedford, she was the devoted daughter of the late Joseph Vieira and Mary A. (Rebello) Vieira. Priscilla dedicated her life to being a loving homemaker, nurturing her family with unwavering care and affection throughout the years.
Priscilla leaves behind her beloved husband and companion of sixty years Anthony V. Cabeca; her daughter, Linda Cabeca, and her partner, Jim MacLaughlin; her son, Anthony J. Cabeca, and his wife, Kimberli Jacobsen; and her treasured grandchildren, Katherine, Jessica, Joshua, and Nicholas McNamara, and Krista and Jenna Cabeca. She is also survived by her siblings, Richard, Charles, and Lillian, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews, whose lives were enriched by her kindness and warmth.
Priscilla was predeceased by her cherished siblings Helen, Margaret, Dorothy, Rose, Dolores, Donald, Ernest, George, Joseph, and Gilbert, each of whom held a special place in her heart.
Her legacy is one of deep familial love and unwavering support, reflecting a life well-lived and devoted to those she held dear. Priscilla will be remembered for her feisty spirit, vibrant presence, always beautifully dressed and in high heels (which she even walked in a 20 mile walk-a-thon in!), and the deep-rooted impact she made on all who knew her. She loved hosting family gatherings, spending time with grandchildren, sharing laughter, and was a notorious picky eater.
Priscilla’s visiting hours will be held on Thursday, July 24, 2025 at Perry Funeral Home from 5:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. Her funeral will take place Friday morning, beginning in the funeral home at 9:00 A.M. and followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 10:00 A.M. Burial will immediately follow in St. John’s Cemetery.
