Querubina (Froias) Carreiro, age 94, of Dartmouth, Massachusetts, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, surrounded by her loving family at Hathaway Manor Extended Care. She was the beloved wife of the late Viriato Carreiro, whom she lost at the young age of 24, and whose memory she carried with her throughout her life.
Born on April 10, 1932, in Água de Pau, São Miguel, Azores, Querubina was the cherished daughter of the late Serafim Froias and Arminda (Sousa) Froias. She was also predeceased by her siblings, Manuel De Froias, Gloria Sousa, Conceição Silva, and Arminda Piques.
Querubina was filled with love, humility, and quiet strength. She always put others before herself, never seeking recognition. Querubina was known for helping those who needed it most, even when she herself had very little to give. She never judged others and always encouraged peace, understanding, and kindness. Her greatest purpose and joy in life was her family. Her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren were truly the light of her life. Her unconditional love defined who she was and will never be forgotten.
Querubina had a strong and enduring faith as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, which guided her life, and brought her comfort and hope. She found great joy in talking about God and sharing the hope and promise of His Kingdom with others. Her faith remained an important part of who she was and was reflected in the way she lived—with patience, kindness, and love for others.
She is survived by her loving children: Carlos Carreiro and his wife Fátima Carreiro, Viriato Carreiro and his wife Lucília Carreiro, Gilberto Carreiro and his wife Teresa Carreiro, José Carreiro and his wife Lucy Carreiro, and her daughter Silvina Araujo and her husband Artur Araujo.
She was a proud and devoted grandmother to Joseph Carreiro, Nelson Carreiro, Vera Rymszewicz, Kathy Baganha, Kelly Goncalves, Kevin Carreiro, Deciderio Carreiro, Stephen Carreiro, Keven Carreiro, Jessica Carreiro, Christopher Araujo, Kyle Araujo, and Vanessa Reyes. She is also survived by many extended family members and dear friends who will cherish her memory.
Querubina’s kindness, faith, and legacy of love will live on through her family and all who knew her. She will be remembered with great respect and affection as a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and faithful servant of Jehovah.
Her family would like to thank her care team at Hathaway Manor and Extended Care for the outstanding love, care, and compassion they provided Querubina during her stay and final moments.
