Rafael Santos

Rafael Santos, age 38, of New Bedford, MA, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, October 2, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was the cherished husband of Jessica Gonzalez-Santos, with whom he shared many beautiful moments and a deep bond.

Born on July 19, 1987, in Metapan, El Salvador, Rafael was the son of Rigoberto Santos and the late Maria Concepcion Polanco. He carried the spirit of his heritage with pride and worked tirelessly throughout his life as a skilled carpenter. His craftsmanship and dedication to his trade earned him the respect of many in his community.

Rafael is remembered not just for his professional contributions but also for the warmth and kindness he extended to those around him. His laughter and spirit brightened the lives of family and friends, leaving a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing him.

In addition to his loving wife, Rafael is survived by his mother, Maria Concepcion Polanco, whose love and guidance were foundational in his life. The bond they shared illustrated the strength of family ties, which Rafael held dear. He is also survived by his son and daughter, Jesse Santos and Rossa Crespin; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Pastor Ivan and Nereida Gonzalez; as well as his siblings, Jesus Santos, Rigoberto Polanco and Isabel Reyna; and his nephew, Eduardo Enoc Elisio and nieces, Fernanda Estefania and Analia Joselyn.

Visitation will take place on Monday, October 6, 2025, at Perry Funeral Home, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 7, beginning at 11:00 AM in the funeral home, with service to be held at 12:00 P.M. Burial immediately following the service at Rural Cemetery.

Rafael Santos leaves behind a legacy of love and craftsmanship that will continue to resonate within his family and friends. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered in the hearts of all who knew him.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Perry Funeral Home, located at 111 Dartmouth St, New Bedford, MA, which offers an ample lighted parking lot and is equipped with a handicap-accessible ramp and entrance for all who wish to pay their respects.
