Robert Cournoyer

Robert Cournoyer, age 88, of Acushnet, Massachusetts, passed away on August 24, 2026, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was the cherished husband of Teresa Cournoyer.

Born on May 15, 1938, Robert was the beloved son of the late J. Alfred Cournoyer and Doris (LaPlante) Cournoyer. Robert had been a United States Army Veteran and later went on to become the owner of High Flotation Tire Company for many years.

Robert is survived by his loving wife, Teresa; his sister, Lucille Cournoyer; his step-children, Mariana Carvalho and Michael Cordeiro and his wife Briann; his 2 step-grandchildren, Chayce and Savannah Cordeiro and a niece Mary Cournoyer.

Robert’s visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, August 26, 2026 at Perry Funeral Home from 5:00pm - 7:00pm. His funeral service will take place on Thursday morning in the funeral home from 8:45am - 9:15am and followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary’s Church in Fairhaven at 10:00am. Burial will immediately follow in River Side Cemetery.

Arrangements are by Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth Street, New Bedford, Massachusetts, which offers convenient facilities, including a lighted parking lot and wheelchair accessibility for attendees.
