Ronald Gobeil

Ronald Gobeil, age 74, of New Bedford, MA passed away peacefully on March 4, 2024 at St. Luke’s Hospital with his loving family by his side. 

He was born in New Bedford, MA to the late Normand Gobeil and Barbara (Mello) Gobeil. He was a retired oiler/operating engineer for DW White Construction with 50 years Local No.4 of the International Union of Operating Engineers. He was proud of working the crane on the movie set of “Jaws”. He loved NASCAR and traveling to Vieques, PR. Lebeau’s was his Cheers, known there as RaRa. 

Ronald is survived by his daughter Tina Gobeil; his son Ronald Gobeil Jr. and his fiancé Sherry Bettencourt; his grandchildren Cassie Gobeil and Dillon Bettencourt; his sister Linda Fortin and her daughters Paula Vicente (goddaughter) and Lynn Rinehart; his cousin Brian Thomasett and his partner Kari Richard. 

A Memorial Service with his cremains will be held on Friday, March 15, 2024 from 5:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. at Perry Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
