Rosa Baptista

Rosa Baptista, age 96, of New Bedford, Massachusetts, passed away on August 1, 2026, at Alden Court Nursing Home, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on September 11, 1929, Rosa was the beloved daughter of the late Joseph Baptista and Evelyn (Morse) Baptista. She lived most of her life in Pawtucket, RI and worked at and retired from Murdock Webbing. She enjoyed spending time with family, loved the Red Sox and was pleased with the recent Red Sox winning streak.

Rosa is survived by: her sister, Patricia Perry of New Bedford and her brother, Auggie Baptista of San Antonio Texas; as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her siblings: Priscilla Hoover, Irene Kotlowski, Ruth Gomes and Sonny Baptista.

Thank you to the staff at Alden Court for their kindness during Rosie’s 15 months stay and thank you to Southcoast Hospice for their guidance and support.

in lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that you donate to a charity of your choice in memory of Rosa.

Rosa’s visiting hours and funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 6, 2026. Visiting hours will take place at Perry Funeral Home from 8:00am - 9:30am and followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of the Assumption Church at 10:00am. Burial will immediately follow in St. John’s Cemetery.

Arrangements are by Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth Street, New Bedford, Massachusetts, which offers convenient facilities, including a lighted parking lot and wheelchair accessibility for attendees.
