Sandra M. Duarte

Sandra M. (Pimental) Duarte, age 50, of New Bedford, MA, passed away peacefully at St. Luke’s Hospital on Sunday, August 24, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Her gentle spirit and unwavering strength will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Born on August 29, 1974, in Figueira da Foz, Portugal, Sandra was the cherished daughter of Maria Olinda (Pereira) Pimental and the late Joao Pimental. Throughout her life, she exemplified the values of love and tenacity, which she carried into her work as a dedicated Phlebotomist for St. Luke’s Hospital, where she made lasting connections with patients and colleagues alike.

Sandra was the beloved wife of the late John S. Duarte, Jr. Together, they shared a bond that was reflective of their deep commitment to family and the joy they found in each other’s company. Her memory will be forever held dear in the hearts of those who loved her. Sandra's legacy will live on through the love and memories she leaves behind. She touched many lives and her kindness will never be forgotten.

Sandra is survived by her cherished children, including daughter Kayla Duarte and sons Quinn Duarte and Chace Gomes, who were the light of her life. She also leaves behind her beloved mother, Maria Olinda, whose guidance and support were invaluable to her throughout her life. Sandra shared a deep bond with her sisters, Isabel Desousa and Lina Silva, who stood by her side through both joyous and challenging times.

In addition to her immediate family, Sandra is lovingly remembered by her nieces and nephews, who brought her immense joy and pride. Their fond memories of time spent together will forever keep her spirit alive in their hearts.

Sandra’s family has expressed their wishes for her funeral arrangements to be held privately, honoring her memory in their own personal way.
