Sandy Silva

Sandy Silva, 53, of New Bedford, Massachusetts, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, May 21, 2026, just days shy of her 54th birthday. Born on May 29, 1972, in New Bedford, Sandy was the beloved and cherished daughter of Fatima Silva and the late Manuel ‘Faial’ Silva. Proud and devoted mother of Madison Correia, and loving fiancé of Mark Correia, whom they shared a loving committed relationship of 30 years. Her passing has left a profound void in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

For 28 dedicated years, Sandy contributed her compassion and skill to DaVita New Bedford Dialysis, where she was a well known and respected team member. Her commitment to her work reflected the depth of her caring nature and her unwavering dedication to helping others in their time of need.

Sandy’s life joys were gatherings with her family, summer cookouts in her backyard that would last into the wee hours of the morning just as birds began to chirp the start of a new day. When it came to helping others Sandy would never take NO for an answer always thinking of her family and friends before thinking of herself.

She had a passion for decorating, old school hits, and enjoying time spent with her many cousins and friends. Sandy’s famous stern, yet humorous way of being made her highly respected and cherished by everyone.

Sandy’s family was the cornerstone of her life. She was lucky enough to live so close to her mother and siblings and have them part of her day-to- day life. She is survived by her loving mother, Fatima Silva; her pride & joy and treasured daughter, Madison; and the love of her life and fiancé, Mark Correia.

Sandy also leaves behind her adoring siblings. Her brother Nelson Silva and sister Kelley Silva; her precious nephews, Darius Goyco and Noah Melo. The bond they shared was a source of great joy and strength, her memory will forever be embraced by these loved ones who will continue to hold her memory so close in their hearts. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

The community of New Bedford also mourns this unbelievable loss. A gentle soul whose presence brought warmth and kindness to all those around her. Though her departure was sudden and left many unprepared to say goodbye, the legacy of her love and devotion will endure. Sandy’s life was a testament to the power of love and dedication, touching the lives of many through her kindness, her playful comments, witty remarks , and steadfast spirit. She will be tremendously and deeply missed, yet forever remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
