Saturnina Ortiz Soto

Saturnina Ortiz Soto, age 87, of New Bedford, MA, passed away Monday, October 27, 2025, at her home with her loving family by her side.

Born on February 8, 1938, in Arecibo, Puerto Rico, Saturnina was the beloved daughter of Juan Ortiz and Ramona Soto. Throughout her life, she embraced the role of a loving homemaker, dedicating herself to caring for her family and instilling in them the values of kindness and compassion.

Saturnina's nurturing spirit and unwavering dedication to her family have left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her. She created a warm and welcoming home, where family gatherings were filled with laughter, love, and delicious meals that brought everyone together. Her legacy of love will continue to resonate in the hearts of her family and friends. Saturnina will be dearly missed, and her memory will be cherished forever.

Saturnina is survived by her beloved children, Jose, Luis, Jorge, Samuel, Marilyn, Mariana, and Luz; 26 Grandchildren, 46 Great-grandchildren, and 4 Great-great-grandchildren; She was predeceased by Pedro, Virgilio, and Rosa.

Visiting hours and funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at Perry Funeral Home, located at 111 Dartmouth St, New Bedford, MA. The visitation will take place from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM. Burial will immediately follow in Rural Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Perry Funeral Home, which provides ample lighted parking and is equipped with a handicap-accessible ramp and entrance for all who wish to pay their respects.
