Sergio Manuel Garcia Tomé

Sergio Manuel Garcia Tomé, age 65, of New Bedford, Massachusetts, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, May 18, 2026, at his home. He was a devoted husband, beloved son, and cherished family member whose presence enriched the lives of those who knew him. He was the cherished husband of Christine (Eklund) Tomé.

Born on September 8, 1960, in Sao Paulo, Brazil, Sergio was the beloved son of Maria do Carmo (Garcia) Liberty and the late Manuel Tomé. Throughout his life, Sergio carried with him the values and warmth instilled by his family, which were evident in his relationships and his commitment to his community.

Professionally, Sergio dedicated himself as a service manager at a local Transmission Service Shop. His expertise and work ethic earned him respect among colleagues and clients alike, who admired his dedication and friendliness. Sergio’s life was marked by love, dedication, and service. His memory will remain a beacon of strength and warmth for all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Sergio is lovingly survived by his devoted wife, Christine Tomé, who stood by his side through life's journeys. He was a proud father to his son, Dillon Tomé, who held a special place in his heart. Sergio also leaves behind his two brothers, Jeffrey Tomé and Shawn Tomé, who share in the deep loss felt by the family and friends. This includes his four legged companion Finn who was his best friend.

The family will honor Sergio’s life with visiting hours and a funeral service to be held on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at Perry Funeral Home from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A cremation will follow.
